Finance Assistant (Part-Time/Remote)

As we continue to grow, we’re looking for a proactive and detail-driven Finance Assistant to support the day-to-day running of our finance function.
This is a part-time role focused on keeping our financial systems accurate, up to date and running smoothly. You’ll support the wider business by ensuring invoices, payments and reconciliations are processed on time, and that our accounting system remains well maintained.
The role is ideal for someone who enjoys structured work, takes pride in accuracy, and is comfortable working independently while being part of a collaborative team.
To maintain continuity and flow, the role is ideally spread across three mornings per week of 3 hours per day, though flexibility is available for the right candidate. The role can be largely remote once trained, with some office attendance required initially.
Key Responsibilities
Input financial information accurately into the company accounting system
Support with any issues or queries relating to Microsoft Business Central
Ensure all new clients are credit checked in line with company procedures
Support the wider finance team to ensure payments are made accurately and on time
Monitor the invoice inbox during working hours and action accordingly
Enter subcontractor and supplier invoices for approval
Ensure all bank accounts are reconciled on a weekly basis
We’re looking for someone who is organised, reliable and very comfortable working with numbers and systems.
Skills & Attributes
Excellent numerical skills and strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
High levels of accuracy with a strong eye for detail
The ability to work independently while remaining a positive team player
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to liaise confidently across the business
Proven ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
A proactive, can-do attitude and a willingness to help where needed
Excellent organisational and time-management skills

The Details
9 hours/week
3 hours x 3 days (with flexibility)
~£7,500–£9,000+ (subject to qualifications, experience and ability) per annum for 9 hours per week, equivalent to approximately £31,000-£37,000 per annum on a full-time (37.5-hour) basis.
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates should meet one of the following:
A-level (or equivalent) in Maths, Accounting, Business or Economics
Relevant practical experience in a finance, accounts assistant, bookkeeping or admin role involving financial data
